The Egyptian Football Association has announced that Mohamed Salah will not be called up for international duty in March.
EFA vice president Ahmed Shobier confirmed that the 26-year-old will not be available for selection in their game against Niger Republic and Nigeria.
“Mohamed Salah will not play the Niger game in the AFCON qualifiers or the Nigeria friendly,” he told KingFut.
The forward, who has played a key role in Liverpool’s title push this season, is expected to be on a two-week break during that period.
Egypt, who have already qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, will face Niger on March 21 in their last qualifying game.
The Pharaohs will then travel to Nigeria for a friendly slated for March 25.
