Manchester United have made a £54m bid for Juventus forward Douglas Costa, according to reports in Italy.
Italian media outlet, Rai Sport claim that the Red Devils are eager to sign the Brazil international in January.
Reports further stated that United hierarchy have discussed the proposed transfer with the interim manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
However, United could find it tough to sign the 28-year-old from Juventus given that the Italian giants are reluctant to sell.
Costa is valued at around £70m, which is significantly less than the £54m offered by the Premier League side.
United have won their last two Premier League games since Solskjaer took over the reins from Jose Mourinho ahead of their trip to Cardiff in the Premier League.
The Red Devils eased past Cardiff 5-1 in their final game before Christmas Day and were victorious over Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day.
