Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is confident his team would have punched their tickets to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after hopefully defeating the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the forthcoming double header between the two.
In the pre-match press conference ahead the clash billed for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the German stated that the West Africans are in a ‘fantastic’ situation as their destinies are right in their hands.
“If we win two times (vs Libya), we can be there already at the AFCON,” Rohr said.
“This will be in four days.
“It’s pleasure not pressure. It’s a fantastic situation.
“It will be difficult, but it’s also possible.
“But let’s start with the first game on Saturday.”
The gaffer further made reference to the Eagles home loss to South Africa in the first matchday of the qualifying series, clarifying that the team has since worked on the errors that led to the defeat.
“We lost in June (2017) to South Africa due to some individual mistakes. We have forgotten this and we now want to qualify for the AFCON,” he said.
