Gabon Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) intend to lure ex-Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to their national team as they bid to replace coach José Antonio Camacho, who they recently sacked after a poor run of results.
Reports from Gabon Actu state that the FEGAFOOT and the Ministry of Sports officials have confirmed to their sources that the report of interest in Zidane is true.
Former Barcelona midfielder Deco is said to have been the intermediary between the former Real Madrid coach and the federation.
FEGAFOOT also have French gaffers Alain Giresse and Patrice Carteron on their watchlist and should they fail to sign Zidane, one of the Frenchmen will be appointed to replace Camacho.
Noteworthy, 46-year-old Zidane has been strongly linked with a move to Premier Leabiyside Manchester United to replace underfire Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.
