Odion Ighalo was on target in Changchun Yatai’s 3-0 home win over Guizhou Zhicheng in the Chinese Super League on Saturday.
The 29-year-old forward, who was on for his 22nd start of the season, netted the opener via a spot kick to increase his goal tally this term to 17.
Ighalo displayed calm nerve to convert a penalty kick in the 36 minute, giving Yatai the deserved lead before going into the break.
Nemanja Pejčinović fired in the second for the hosts in the 51st minute to double their lead. Two minutes later, Han Pengfei got his second booking of the game and was consequently given the marching orders.
Adrian Mierzejewski added the icing on the cake for Yatai when he struck in their third in the 83rd minute.
It’s no longer news that Nigerian striker Ighalo is Changchun Yatai’s all-time leading scorer. He’s now scored a total of 32 goals for the Chinese side.
