The Super Eagles kits at the 2018 FIFA World Cup has just gotten another international recognition as it has been nominated for the Beazley Designs of the Year award from London-based Design Museum.
The outstanding outfit was nominated in the fashion category of the annual design award which has 87 contenders cut across all categories.
Nigeria faced elimination in the group stage of the World Cup after suffering defeats against finalists Croatia and Argentina. However, their kits at the Mundial was arguably the most attractive amongst participating countries.
Back in June, the jerseys had unprecedented merchandising as it sold out on the Nike website in a flash after its release.
Design Museum revealed that the nominees will have their piece displayed at an exhibition in Kensington until January 6 while the winners will be announced on November 15.
The award is organised such that design experts from around the world nominate the most innovative designs made within a period of 12 months. There are six categories: fashion, architecture, digital, transport, product and graphic design – each from which a winner will emerge. An overall winner will also be announced on the said date.
