Victor Moses’ goal was not enough to win Chelsea the FA Community Shield as Arsenal defeated the Premier League champions 4-1 on penalties in the season curtain raiser.
The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and went straight to penalty shoot outs. Super Eagles forward Moses put the Blues ahead just after the half-time break before Sead Kolasinac equalised for the Gunners in the 82nd minute just after Pedro got sent off for a bad tackle.

Alex Iwobi was also in action for Arsenal but was substituted for Theo Walcott in the 67th minute.
The newly introduced ABBA penalty style was used in the shootout, where the team that takes the first kick waits for the second team to take two and the process is repeated.
Arsenal have now won the FA Community Shield 15 times.
