Mutiu Adepoju optimistic ahead World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon

Former Nigeria international Mutiu Adepoju has stated that he is very optimistic that the Super Eagles’ chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup is ‘very realistic’.

The former Nigerian midfielder wants all hands to be on deck in regards to the Super Eagles next World Cup qualifying matches against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon – home and away fixtures.

He has, however, pleaded for the support of fans of the game in the country as he claims this is very crucial to the success of the Eagles in the forthcoming games.

The three-time African Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions eased to the zenith of Group B in the African qualifying series after recording victories in each other first two qualifying encounters against Zambia and Algeria.

The West African giants will face Cameroon in their next game on September 1 and Adepoju in a series of tweets, is optimistic that Gernot Rohr’s men are capable of snatching up the ticket to represent Africa in the quadrennial World football showpiece, next year.

The former Real Madrid midfielder also responded to a fan who asked that the game be moved away from the Godswill Akpabio Stadium:
