Serie A club, Torino FC have announced on their website that new signing and Nigerian midfielder, Joel Obi is nursing an injury and will be out for at most 7 days.
Joel Obi, who made the move from Inter Milan to Torino in the currently open European transfer window is among the 18 foreign-based players invited by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers game against Tanzania on September 5.
The 22-year-old playmaker should be fit before the Nigeria National Team and the Tafia trade tackles if the statement on Torino’s official website is anything to go by.
“MRI he underwent Obi showed an overuse the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh. Recovery times are currently estimated at approximately 5-7 days.”
Joel Obi joined Torino on 2 July 2015 from Inter Milan for a reported €2.4 million on a 4-year contract..
