Hope Akpan scores his first goal for Burton Albion in win over Musa & Ndidi’s Leicester

Super Eagles midfielder Hope Akpan expressed glee having scored his first goal for his new club Burton Albion in their 2-1 win over 2015/16 Premier League champions Leicester City in a pre-season game on Tuesday.

Super Eagles star Ahmed Musa started the game, while compatriot Wilfred Ndidi was subbed in later in the game.

Akpan scored the first goal in the 17th minute after which Luvas Akins doubled their lead 12 minutes later.

In the 66th minute, Harry Maguire netted a consolation goal for the Foxes to make it 2-1.

Akpan took to his Twitter to express delight at scoring in the game.

Following his release by Blackburn, Akpan signed a one-year contract with Burton Albion in July 2017.

He made his debut for Nigeria on October 15, 2014, in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match.
