Nigeria’s women basketball national team remain unbeaten after defeating Guinea 106-33 to clinch their fourth successive win at the ongoing 2017 Women’s AfroBasket in Mali.
The D’Tigress, led by Coach Sam Vincent, crossed the 100-point mark for the second time after beating Egypt by 106-72 in the previous Group B game, which saw them qualify for the quarter finals with two games to spare.
Evelyn Akhator was the best performer on the day with 24 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
The first quarter ended 26-8 in favour of Nigeria while it was 48-12 at half-time. The third quarter was also in Nigeria’s side as it ended 82-20, with the Nigerians finishing the game with the biggest win of the tournament thus far.
The D’Tigress will on Sunday face Senegal for their fifth and final game of the Group B. The Senegalese are also looking finish the group stage as winners as they are also unbeaten in four games, but Nigeria lead with a better point difference.
