Aiteo Cup Draw: Sunshine Stars face Nasarawa Utd, holders FC Ifeanyi Ubah get Feeders team

The draw for the men’s round of 16 and women’s first-round Aiteo Cup were made on Friday night and produced some mouthwatering fixtures.

Only one fixture involving top-flight teams emerged, with the possibility of another as Sunshine Stars will host Nasarawa United, while Akwa United might also face a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side if Kano Pillars get past second-tier club Yobe Desert Stars in their round of 32 game yet to be played.

Third-tier club Ngwa FC, who scored the highest number goals by any side in the previous round, winning 6-2 against FC Galadima, will face the winners between Lobi Stars and Katsina United.

Holders FC Ifeanyi Ubah will take on their feeders team in an unlikely draw, while ABS Ilorin FC, who eliminated Enyimba FC in the previous round will face another feeders team in Adamawa United Feeders.

In the women’s draw, defending champions Rivers Angels were handed a tricky tie as they face Delta Babes.

Nine teams drew bye and are automatically in the round of 16and among those teams are Ibom Angels, Sunshine Queens, Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons.
