FIBA ranking: D’Tigers retain top spot in Africa after AfroBasket silver

The national basketball team of Nigeria, D’Tigers, maintain top spot in Africa according to the FIBA ranking released on Thursday.

Despite going home with the silver medal at the just concluded 2017 FIBA AfroBasket held in Tunisia, their spot in Africa on the rankings remain unchanged.

The 2015 AfroBasket champions still maintain their top rank in Africa but are ranked 26th in the world.

The D’Tigers team have 211.3 points to retain their to spot in Africa. Angola, who also dropped 10 points, are second with 198.7 points and are 33rd in the latest world ranking.

Tunisia, who beat Nigeria to the 2017 AfroBasket title, are placed fourth in the continent with 119.9 points.
