Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow have competed the signing of Super Eagles defender Brian Idowu.
The right-back, who was in action in Nigeria’s three games at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, put pen to paper on a three-year contract deal with the Railroaders.
Born in the Russian City of Saint Petersburg, Idowu began his football career in Amkar Perm and played mostly in the side’s youth team for three years.
He had a loan stint in Dinamo St. Petersburg in the 2013/14 season before breaking into Amkar Perm’s first team in the following season.
In total, the 26-year-old made 99 appearances for the Red and Blacks, scoring three goals and with two assists to his name.
Idowu’s spell at Perm however came to an end at the end of the 2016/17 season as he was released by the Russian side after being declared bankrupt.
The defender has made eight appearances for Nigeria, scoring once – on his remarkable debut for the Super Eagles in an international friendly with Argentina in 2017.
