Reasons Onyekuru opts for loan move to Galatasaray revealed

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru had to settle for a loan move to Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray after being denied work permit to play in England.

Onyekuru was expected to rejoin Everton this season ahead of their pre-season tour but was unable to secure a work permit to play for English Premier League side.

According to reports from Turkish Football, the 21-year-old striker has passed his medicals at the Istanbul-based club and his signing will be officially announced once both parties agree the financial terms.

Meanwhile, Onyekuru was offered to Besiktas and Fenerbahce at first but Galatasaray swiftly began negotiations and are now in pole position to sign him.

Onyekuru, who was on loan to Anderlecht last season, scored ten goals in 28 appearances before suffering a knee injury which ended his 2017/18 campaign.
