Premier League giants Arsenal FC have failed to reach an agreement with FC Porto on the loan transfer of Nigeria youth international Kelechi Nwakali.
According to a report from O Jogo, Nwakali, who was strongly linked with a move to Porto earlier in the week, misses out on the transfer to the Portuguese side after being informed he will join the reserve team.
A season-long loan move to NAC Breda is now most likely for the 20-year-old and he affirmed the link with a picture posted on his social media handle, hinting he is at Dutch club finalizing the intended move.
Nwakali is contracted to Arsenal until June 30, 2021. He was out on loan to Dutch clubs MVV Maastricht and VVV Venlo in the past.
Meanwhile, the Arsenal loanee seems to have gained attention from Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr following his scintillating display in Nigeria’s recent 3-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in a friendly at Uyo.
He is thus a big guess to earn an unprecedented call-up to the national team for the AFCON 2019 Qualifier against Seychelles in September.
