Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed confidence ahead their Group D showdown against Argentina, saying the Eagles will show the South Americans that they ‘are from Nigeria’.
Nigeria bashed Argentina 4-2 in an international friendly in November 2017 and the former Nigeria youth international scored a free-kick some moments to the half time break.
Aside Argentina being a familiar foe to the Eagles, the 21-year-old striker have also played with trio of Willy Caballero, Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero at Manchester City before leaving for Leicester City in August 2017.
”They are a strong team as you know, we have played against them and we won, they wanted us to beat Iceland so that they come at us,” Iheanacho said on KweseESPN TV.
”It is going to be a difficult game for them, we have to fight together and do everything possible to beat them in that game despite they have good players and are a quality side. We need to show them we are from Nigeria.”
A win for the West African side on Tuesday will see them become the first African country to advance into the Round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.
