Captain of the Super Eagles, John Obi Mikel says that team will intensify training ahead of their World Cup opener against Croatia on Saturday, June 16 at the Kaliningard Stadium.
The Tianjin TEDA midfielder likewise stated that he is pleased with preparations for the Mundial at the training camp.
”We need to continue to work hard, we need to continue to train and do exactly what we want and what the coach asks of us,” Mikel told reporters.
”I think it’s (the base camp) good, the field is very good, the fans and the children who came to support us are amazing.
”It was nice that after the training we had the opportunity to give some autographs to the guys. We are in a very good place, I believe.”
Nigeria will kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Saturday, June 16 before travelling to Volgograd for a clash against Iceland. They will then play Argentina in their last group fixture on June 26 in St. Petersburg.
