Just before the team left for Russia on Monday evening, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr summed up the positives from the team’s camping in Austria, expressing delight to see none of the players suffer injury in training.
The manager, while stating that he had to field some fatigued players in the international friendly played against Czech Republic on June 6, communicated excitement to see the boys work out hard to get fit and prepared for the Mundial after the game.
”Nine days here was hard work. Everyday we had two training sessions in very good conditions, wonderful grass, the country side is nice, is clean with mountains,” Rohr said in an interview with the Nigerian Football Federation.

”Unfortunately, we had heavy rains for the match, we wanted to play on the 7th or the 8th but we had to play on the sixth.
”It was too close for the England match so we had small time for recovery and for traveling but the organization could not be made better.”
”But we did the work especially after the game against Czech Republic.
”Everybody is fit, no injury, which is the most important that they did very well, and I think everybody is much better now so it was a good preparation.”
The Eagles had their first training session at their camp base at Essentuki amidst warm fans reception on Tuesday evening.
