Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is unperturbed by the underdog tag given his team following their poor run in pre-World Cup friendlies.
The Eagles played five friendly games in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with the record of one win, one draw and three losses.
“We are okay with the garb of the underdog. But the defeats have done something for us – we have our heads firmly on our shoulders and we are focused,” Rohr told The NFF.
“Together, we have reviewed the matches and learnt so many lessons. We will approach the World Cup matches differently.
The Franco-German is confident Nigeria will rise up to the challenge when they slug it out against the Croatia on Saturday, June 16 at the Kaliningard Arena.
“We will take it one match at a time. I love this group because we know how to rise to the occasion together. Nigeria will be ready for Croatia,” Rohr added.
The team will jet out to Russia from their Avita Resort camp in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria on Monday for the 21st FIFA World Cup finals.
