Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo is confident that Nigeria will reach the last 16 at the 2018 FIFA World Cup which kicks off on June 14.
The Changchun Yatai’s captain believes that the Eagles can move past the group stage in spite of the big oppositions.
Ighalo also spoke about his childhood dream of playing at the Mundial saying:
“I used to play in the teenage World Cup, but (this is my first time) participating in the actual World Cup and winning the Cup is every player’s ultimate goal, including mine,” he told Xinhua.
Being the only Chinese Super Lig player to participate at this year’s World Cup, the former Watford striker said he would fight not only for Nigeria but also for Changchun Yatai and his Chinese supporters.
Nigeria are drawn in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
