The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one spot to 48th in June’s edition of the Coca-Cola FIFA ranking while retaining their sixth position on the continental ranking.
Having played three friendly games with the record of two losses and one draw, the Eagles had to to drop points from the previous 635 tally in May to 618.
The West Africans’ World Cup group opponents Argentina and Iceland did not record any movement on the ranking with former retaining fifth spot and the latter remaining 22nd. Croatia however drop two spots to 20th position on the ranking.
By implication, the Eagles will begin the 2018 World Cup quest as underdogs in Group D as they are the least seeded according to the ranking.
The next FIFA ranking will be published on July 19, 2018.
