Chippa United Daniel Akpeyi headlines the yet-to-be-released 5-man list of players dropped from the Super Eagles squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Reports from Gong News suggests that Coach Gernot Rohr has opted to axe Akpeyi, Kano Pillars forward Junior Lokosa, Locomotiv Plodiv defender Stephen Eze, injury-hit duo of Moses Simon and Chidozie Awaziem  ahead Tuesday’s trip to London for the clash against England.

The quintet were seen leaving the Eagles Port Harcourt base with their luggage on Tuesday morning.

If this report is anything to go by, Nigeria will have two Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL] players in Plateau United shot stopper Dele Ajiboye and Ikechukwu Ezenwa of Enyimba Int’l at the Mundial with the duo part of the required three goalkeepers left in the squad.
