Alli headlines England’s provisional squad list for Nigeria friendly

Tottenham Hotspur forward Dele Alli headlines England’s provisional squad list for the international friendly clash against the Super Eagles.

The Three Lions head coach Gareth Southgate released the team’s 23-man squad list for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday and it was composed of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, five midfielders and six forwards.

By implication, the team list released is provisionally the squad that will line-up against the Super Eagles in the international warm-up game come June.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who was once contacted by NFF President Amaju Pinnick on switching allegiance to Nigeria ahead the World Cup, was notably absent in Southgates’ squad list for Mundial.

Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jamie Vardy, Danny Welbeck

The friendly, billed for the Wembley Stadium, will be played on June 2 by 5:15pm.
