CSKA Moscow are planning to re-sign Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa from Leicester City on a permanent basis in the summer.
The 25-year-old, who was a big revelation at the Russian side at the latter spell of the season, may return to the Muscovites after the 2018 World Cup as CSKA desire to have their lethal striker back permanently ahead next season.
CSKA Director General, Roman Babaev hinted that the club will set up negotiations with the Foxes in coming days concerning the proposed deal.
”Will CSKA make attempts to keep Musa? We will conduct this work. But everything will depend on the position of Leicester,”
Babaev told championat.com.
”We would very much like him to stay with us. Moreover, we are in the Champions League. It is impossible to exclude this possibility.
”But, if Leicester will have a more profitable financial offer on hand, than we can make a bid, it will be difficult. Surely they have a goal to sell the player, and not again rent him. But we will try to keep Musa.”
Musa witnessed a very slow start to life at the Russian Capital but ended the season in terrific style, netting six goals and bagging three assists in his last six league games.
