Akpom nets goal no. 6 in Sint-Truiden’s away win

Sint-Truiden forward Chuba Akpom was on target in the Canaries 2-1 away win against Antwerp in a Belgian First Division Europa League playoffs encounter.

The Arsenal loanee put up an impressive showing at the Bosuilstadion on Saturday as he bagged his sixth goal of the season for STVV.

Jonathan Legear scored the opener for the visitors in the 26th minute courtesy of an assist from Roman Bezus.

Akpom fired in the second for Sint-Truiden in the 33rd minute with a brilliant volley in the box.

Antwerp’s Reda Jaadi halved the deficit for the hosts with a smart finish in the 50th minute, but that was not enough to earn them a point as Akpom’s side sealed up a massive away victory.

The Super Eagle invitee has now scored eight goals and recorded two assists in 23 appearances in all competitions while representing Arsenal and STVV this season.
