Hapoel Be’er Sheva striker Anthony Nwakaeme is confident of making the Nigeria’s 35-man provisional squad list for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.
The forward, who has had a productive campaign at the Israeli side this season, is hopeful he will get another chance to make the Super Eagles party in Russia come June.
“Expectations are so high now that the World Cup is so close but I’m hopeful and confident I will get another chance in the Super Eagles,” Nwakaeme told Complete Sports.
The 29-year-old has scored 13 goals and bagged 8 assists in all competitions for Hapoel Be’er Sheva this term, and he expects a berth in Nigeria’s squad to the Mundial to climax his terrific campaign.
“If I get back into the team, that will cap my season brilliantly well because we are on the verge of making history in Israel.”
Nwakaeme has only cap for Nigeria’s national team and this appearance came in the Eagles’ inconsequential World Cup qualifier game against Algeria in November 2017.
