Red-hot Simeon Nwankwo hits goal no. 6 in Crotone’s win

Nigerian forward Simeon Nwankwo bagged his fifth and sixth goal of the season in Crotone’s 4-1 win against Sassuolo in the Sunday’s Serie A encounter at the Stadio Ezio Scida.

The 25-year-old continued his impressive form for the Italian side as he netted the second of the clash with a stunning header in the 15th minute and then, went on to seal the win with a brilliant strike two minutes from time.

Marcello Trotta scored the opener in the third minute to earn Crotone the lead before Nwankwo doubled the advantage 12 minutes later.

Trottta bagged his brace with a smart finish in the box to make it 3-0 for the hosts.

Domenico Berardi however pulled one back for Sassuolo with a well taken strike from the penalty spot in the stoppage time of the first half.

Nwankwo got his second of the game with another smart finish in the 88th minute to ease Crotone to a potentially vital win in their fight against the drop in the Serie A.

The striker  is now a top favourite to gatecrash the Super Eagles’ 35-man squad list as he has netted five goals in his last five league appearances.
