Oliseh fears key Super Eagles players may suffer fatigue ahead World Cup

Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has issued a warning that most of the prominent players in Nigeria’s squad are likely to suffer from fatigue ahead of the impending World Cup in Russia.

The ex-Nigerian midfielder also said that the reasons why the players are prone to get tired is because they have been involved in a lot of games for their respective club sides this season and that may affect their productivity at the Mundial.

”I am very optimistic with this group. It is a young group and this season has been very tedious for most of the players,” Oliseh told
Channels Sports.

”I don’t know if it is an advantage or disadvantage but most of our players are tired because of the season. I think and pray we’ll be fresh for the tournament.”

The former Fortuna Sittard gaffer has admonished the team to train vigorously and prevent dispute amongst team members.

”Our team, we can’t lie to ourselves, preparation is very important, we have to prepare right. Secondly, let us hope we don’t have infighting between the team,” added Oliseh.
