Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been linked to a summer move to Greek giants PAOK F.C.
The Liverpool loanee has impressed officials of the club with his prolific feats at Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron this season and they want to provide the striker a bigger challenge at a side poised to compete in a European competition next season.
Reports from ALLNigeriaSoccer state that Awoniyi, who is yet to secure a work permit in England, is on the verge of making a loan move to the Greek Super League side in the summer as the leadership of the club are already in advanced level of negotiations with the Reds over the transfer.
The critical hamstring injury suffered by the forward in Mouscron’s league clash against Kortijk earlier in April was what reportedly forestalled the conclusion of the loan deal but nonetheless, an agreement is bound to be struck in coming weeks.
Awoniyi, who has scored ten goals and provided seven assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for Mouscron this season, is bound to remain on the sideline for REM for the rest of the campaign due to injury.
