Nigeria versus DR Congo friendly billed for Port Harcourt Stadium

The forthcoming international friendly between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo has been billed for the Adokiye Aimesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The pre-World Cup test game – scheduled for May 28 – will have the Rivers State’s Stadium as its match venue as NFF officials struck an agreement with the state government officials on Thursday.

Rivers State Sports Commissioner Boma Iyaye stated, in a meeting held at the government house, that the state governor, Nyesom Wike is honoured to host the Super Eagles come May.

“Governor Wike is hosting the Super Eagles and Democratic Republic of Congo on behalf of the Federal Government. This is something that is worthy of commendation,” said Iyaye.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick, who was also in attendance in the high-profile meeting, praised the state government for their support for the national team thus far. Pinnick revealed that CAF President Ahmad Ahmad will be in attendance in the friendly.
