[Round Up] Abiodun through to Round 16; Obazuaye records victory

Bode Abiodun recorded two wins in two in his group games in the men’s single table tennis event as Team Nigeria participated in the ping pong game in Day 6 of the Gold Coast 2018.

Men’s Singles

  • Bode Abiodun thrashed Sierra Leone Rene Benjamin 4-0 [11-3, 11-3, 11-5, 11-3] in round 1.
  • Bode Abiodun went on to defeat Kiribati’s Nooa Takooa with another 4-0 tally [11-3, 11-1, 11-4, 11-7] in round 2 and has thus progressed to the Round of 16.

Para Table Tennis

  • Faith Obazuaye defeated Australia’s Andrea McDonnell 3-0 [11-9, 11-9, 11-6] in women’s TT6-10 singles game.
  • Temitope Ogunsanya lost 3-0 to South Africa’s Theo Cogill in men’s TT6-10 Singles group game. Cogill won 11-4, 11-4, 11-2.
