Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was on target for Royal Excel Mouscron in their 2-1 home win against Kortrijk in the Belgian First Division Europa League playoffs.
The Liverpool loanee who was making his 31st appearance for the Belgian side, hit double-digit goal mark in Sunday’s contest.
Mouscron defender Teddy Mézague netted an own goal in the 14th minute and the visitors went into the lead.
Awoniyi scored an equaliser for Mouscron in the 36th minute with a smart finish off a pass from Omar Govea.
Gary Kachelmacher was shown a straight red card in the 83rd minute for a bad foul in the box. Mouscron were subsequently awarded a penalty and Dimitri Mohamed converted the spot kick to complete the comeback for the hosts.
20-year-old Awoniyi has now scored 10 goals and recorded 7 assists this season for the REM.
