Nigeria national basketball men team D’Tigers are poised to tip off their 2018 Commonwealth Games activities with a clash against New Zealand on Friday, April 6.
The team’s coach Alex Nwora has expressed his confidence in the West Africans’ chances of making it out of Pool A in the preliminary round.
“We have picked our players and we believe they have the qualities we need to do well,” Nwora told Complete Sports.
“We just need to be focused and win our first game; though none of our opponents is easy, we are going to do our best.”
The D’Tigers team, who will be captained by Sichuan Blue Whales star Ike Diogu, will square up against New Zealand, Canada and Australia in the preliminary round of the Games.
