Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode was on target on his debut for Shakhtar Donetsk in their 3-0 away win against Zorya in the Ukrainian Premier League on Sunday.
The forward, who made a loan move to Shakhtar in March after a poor stint at La Liga side Girona FC, needed only two minutes to net his first goal of the 2017/18 season in the Ukrainian topflight clash.
Taison netted the game opener on 41 minutes to earn the visitors a deserved lead.
Facundo Ferreyra increased the tally in favour of Shaktar with a beautiful strike from Bohdan Butko’s pass in the 61st minute.
Kayode was introduced in replacement for Ferreyra in the first minute of stoppage time and the Nigerian wasted no time in registering his name on the scoresheet on 90+3′ minutes to kill the game as a contest.
The former Austria Wien forward failed to net a goal but grabbed one assist in 12 league games for Girona during his loan spell at the club.
