Nigerian forward Sadiq Umar had mixed fortunes in NAC Breda’s 5-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven on Saturday’s Eredivisie encounter.
The forward stirred the ball in his own net and then went on to redeem himself by scoring what proved to be a consolation for his side in the thrilling game at the Philips Stadion.
Marco van Ginkel scored the game opener on 37 minutes with a beautiful strike from the penalty spot.
Umar scored an own goal to double PSV’s lead in the 59 minute before quickly making amends with a well taken strike for the visitors in the 64th minute to make the score 2-1.
Striker Luuk de Jong struck in the 76th minute to restore the hosts’ two-goal lead before NAC’s Karol Mets scored an own goal on 81 minutes to increase the tally.
Gaston Pereiro completed the rout with a goal four minutes later.
Umar, 21, has now scored five goals and registered one assist in eight league appearances for NAC this season.
