Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins bagged a hat-trick in Shanghai Shenhua’s 4-2 home win against Hebei CFFC on Saturday’s Chinese Super League (CSL) clash.
After a barren first half, the pacy forward scored an equaliser for Shanghai on 62 minutes to level scores after Chengdong Zhang had given the visitors the lead in the 48th minute.
Ezequiel Lavezzi restored Hebei’s lead with a well taken strike in the 64th minute before Martins replied with equal alacrity to net another equaliser for the hosts in the 76th minute.
Fredy Guarin ensured a comeback for Wu Jungui’s men with a stunning strike in the 82nd minute.
33-year-old Martins then added the icing on the cake after stabbing in his third of the game off a Mao Jianqing pass on 90 minutes.
The former Inter Milan star has now scored four goals in six appearances in all competitions for the Shanghai Flowers this season.
