Mikel ‘frustrated’ with unavailability for Serbia clash

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has stated that he is sad and frustrated to be unavailable for the team’s friendly against Serbia on Tuesday, March 27.

In a tweet from his verified twitter account, Mikel, who Jollof Sports reported to be unable to surmount his work permit hitch at China, confirmed he will not make Tuesday’s clash.

The Tianjin TEDA star however stated that the rest of the squad have his full support to record victory over the Orlovi at the Hive Stadium.

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be on the field for our game v Serbia tomorrow. I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another WIN! 👊🏿🇳🇬 #SoarSuperEagles

Nevertheless, Bursaspor midfielder Mikel Agu, who was not listed in the Eagles’ 28-man squad for the game but currently trains with the team in London, was called up to replace the 30-year-old veteran midfield maestro.
