Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel is most likely to miss Nigeria’s pre-World Cup warm-up game against the Orlovi of Serbia on Tuesday, March 27.
The midfielder has not been able to surmount his work permit challenge in China and that, in some way, strips him of the right to travel out of the Asian country.
Mikel, who missed the Eagles friendly encounter against Poland due to this same work permit hitch, has been in constant touch with the team since the onset of their camping.
Reports however suggests that Bursaspor midfielder Mikel Agu, who was not listed in the Eagles’ 28-man squad for the game but currently trains with the team in London, was called up to replace the 30-year-old veteran midfield maestro.
That said, Agu was named in the Super Lig Team of the week on Monday, March 19 after his exploits for Bursaspor on the matchday 26 of the Turkish league.
