Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has won the best goal of the month award at Royal Excel Mouscron for the month of February.
The Nigeria youth international, who was in brilliant form for Mouscron in February, was acknowledged by the club for one of his strikes against Standard Liege and Anderlecht.
Mouscron posted a picture on their instagram page, showing the 20-year-old with the accolade in his grasp.
Awoniyi scored an impressive 3 goals and laid on two assists in four games in the month. The striker, who got red-carded in the Belgian’s side league clash against Lockren on March 3, was sorely missed in their last matchday clash against Eupen as he was sidelined, undergoing suspension.
With the Mouscron placed 14th in the 16-team Belgian Pro League, the forward will miss the side’s first game in the relegation playoffs but return to action after the international break.
