Nigerian international Junior Ajayi has been named the best foreign player in the Egyptian Premier League following his impressive performance for Al-Ahly this season.
Ajayi, who was recently included in Nigeria’s 28-man squad list ahead of forthcoming Pre-World Cup warm-up games against Poland and Serbia, was presented the award during the annual Ahram awards held on Friday evening in Cairo.
The forward has contributed immensely to his side’s success this season, netting eight goals and providing nine assists as Al-Ahly are currently champions elect of the Egyptian Premier League.
Since joining the Egyptian side in 2016, the Rio 2016 Olympics star has scored 16 goals in 44 games.
The 22-year-old is expected to push for a spot in Super Eagles’ 23-man list for the Russia 2018 World Cup in June.
