Nigerian international Joel Obi was excluded from Torino’s squad in their win over AS Roma on Friday in the Italian Serie A over injury concerns.
The 26 year old, who received a call up to the Super Eagles squad for their forthcoming international friendlies games against Poland and Serbia, reportedly missed the game due to a muscle injury he suffered in training.
He will be hoping to recover speedily to make the Super Eagles squad for the Pre-World Cup warm-up games which is slated for March 23 & 27.
This invite marks Obi’s first call up in the last two years – after four years in international wilderness.
He has made 15 appearances for Nigeria since his debut in 2011 and he is yet to register a goal.
