Retired Nigerian international footballer Garba Lawal says teamwork and discipline will be paramount to the Super Eagles’ progress at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Lawal, who represented Nigeria at the 1998 and 2002 editions of the Mundial, believes the current squad is composed of quality players but commitment is of high importance if they desire to reach heights in Russia.
“We have a good set of players now but commitment is very key for the players,” began Lawal to ACLSports.
“As a player, you have to know the kind of person you are and the kind of player you are in the team.
“Team work, team discipline and tactical discipline is very key. Without discipline, you’re going nowhere. Everybody knows this and I believe the players should know that anyway,” the 43-year-old added .
