Ikeleji hails Rivers United teammates for win at Kwara United

Rivers United midfielder Bello Ikeleji has hailed his teammates for recording their first win away from home this Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season at Kwara United on Sunday.

A last-minute effort by Osita Chikere got Stanley Eguma’s men the deserved 1-0 win after a tightly contested game at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

Chikere headed home Malachy Ohawume’s cross in the 95th minute to condemn the Harmony Warriors to their second home loss this term.

Former ABS Ilorin FC player Ikeleji, who played a part in the game, was full of praise for his Rivers teammates and the coaching crew for fighting till the end.

“I thank God for the massive victory against Kwara United,” Ikeleji said.

“I appreciate my teammates for fighting hard till the end and not give up at any point in time. The coaching crew are doing their best to make the team the best.”

The win against Kwara United now put Rivers United fourth on the NPFL log and will host FC Ifeanyi Ubah next on matchday 11.
