PyeongChang 2018: Nigeria’s Bobsled team witness rough start to campaign in official training heats

Nigeria’s Bobsled team of Seun Adigun and Akuoma Omeoga have witnessed a rough start to their campaign at the official training heats of the event at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

The Nigerian duo kicked off their campaign on Saturday in the heats 1 and 2 of the event and finished in 19th place.

In heat 1, Adigun and Omeoga completed the race with a time of 54.18 seconds, 3:07 seconds later than than their first-placed Canadian counterparts.

In the second heat, the Nigerians improved speed and finished with a time of 53:49 seconds.

On Sunday however, the twosome witnessed a drop in their ranking following the release of their results in heats 3 and 4.

They dropped to 20th place – bottom rank – having finished with time of 52:96 and 53.60 seconds in Heat 3 and 4 respectively.

The team will race in heats 5 and 6 by 2: 00 AM and 2:50 AM (Nigerian local time)  respectively on Monday.
