The Federation of International Football (FIFA) have approved that countries can now shortlist 35 players in their preliminary squad list as against 30 players for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
This was revealed by an Argentine Sports outlet, Ole, on Thursday that FIFA has approved that the pre-selection of players for the World Cup should increase from 30 to 35.
However, the report further suggested that the final 23-man list to fly to Russia still remain unchanged.
A deadline date for both the provisional players and the 23-man list release have been made known as May 14 and June 4 respectively.
Hopefully, with this broader selection range, Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr will be chanced to choose the very best from a vast number of Nigerian players.
