Super Falcons forward Asisiat Oshoala has praised the Nigeria Football Federation for the signing of Thomas Dennerby as the coach of the Nigeria female national team.
Oshoala, who was present at the unveiling ceremony of the gaffer, said that she is thrilled by the prospect of training under such a world class coach in the national team.
“I want to appreciate the leadership of the NFF for showing they have the Falcons at heart; this is a feat that will go a long way to help develop the game in the country,” the former Arsenal Ladies striker told AOIFootball.
“Its always a privilege for me to work with some of the best coaches in the world, and I am really happy about this development; overall its a great achievement for the team and we are excited to have him as our new coach.”
The 2017 best Africa women player also vowed to give all her best and cooperate with the team and coach to retain their honours and even achieve more.
“This year will be a busy year for the us as we have the WAFU Cup coming up soon and the qualifiers for the Nations Cup and then the Nations Cup proper; we want to try and retain the title we won in Cameroon but above all, the World Cup qualification is most Paramount.
“Hopefully, if we qualify for the World Cup, we can go there and make a difference because I believe we have the players and now the coaches that can take our football to greater heights,” Oshoala concluded.
