Nigeria’s women U-20 team have secured qualification for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following their big triumph over South Africa.
The game which took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City saw the Falconets trounce the Basetsana 6-0.
Having defeated their South African counterparts 2-0 in the first leg of the final round of the qualifiers, the Falconets breezed past their opponents in style as they kept another clean sheet and concurrently sent six goals past the Basetsana.
The trio of Gift Monday, Rasheedat Ajibade and Anam Imo bagged a brace for the Chris Danjuma led-side to send the South Africans back home empty handed.
Monday (5′ 39′), Ajibade (21′ 32′) and Imo 26′ 73′) goals silenced the Basetsana.
In the 71st minute Monday was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on a South African player.
The Falconets are now heading to their ninth consecutive U-20 Women’s World Cup.
