First Bank unveil 14-year-old, nine others ahead 2018 NWBL season

First Bank basketball team of Lagos have unveiled their new signings ahead of the 2018 Nigeria Women Basketball League.

The unveiling ceremony took place at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium in Abuja on Friday saw the team sign 10 new players.

The new signings comprises of five guardians and five attackers.

Joy Grace

A 14-year-old girl, John Grace was among the players the Elephant Girls announced on Friday – the youngest the league has ever seen.

Others are Ogheranduku Sharon, Ekperigha Bethel, Ebiege Theresa Joy, Oduha Isioma Vanessa, Ogedegbe Tobilola, Okoro Ifunanya, Okolie Esther Chinasa, Daniel Bekky and Kelani Olasumbo.

The Peter Ahmedu-led side retained eight players ahead the 2018 season. They are: Akashili Nkechi, Adekoya Biliqis, Udeaja Chioma, Okonkwo Amaka, Isuambuk Mary, Nwakama Deborah, Akaraiwe Nkem and Iornombe Regina/Ebeh Amakachi.

First Bank basketball team were crowned the eighth Zenith Bank Women Basketball League champions in July 2017.
