Rivers United unveil new players, Chief coach ahead 2018 season

Rivers United Football Club have unveiled their new signings on Saturday, January 13 ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The ceremony which took place at the Yakubu Gowon stadium, Port Harcourt, saw 15 new players and two players returning from loan spells added to the club’s squad.

The newly appointed chief coach of the club, Ndubuisi Nduka was also on display in the event.

General Manager of Rivers United FC, Chief Okey Kpalukwu explained that it was imperative for the supporters and fans of the club to have a ‘proper glimpse of their new stars’ before the 2018 NPFL season officially kicks off.

“We want to make this a tradition as our objective remains becoming the foremost football club in Nigeria,” Kpalukwu said.

“It is very important that everyone involved with our football club gets a proper glimpse of their new stars before our first game of the season against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.

“We want to do well in the 2018 season and everyone at the club, in all departments, is seriously going about their business to see that set objectives are met at the end of the season.”
